Short Biography

Dr. Asande Felix Makori is a distinguished legal scholar and academic currently serving  as a  Lecturer, and the Current Examination Coordinator at the School and Department of Law, University of Embu. He holds a Ph.D. in Law and an LL.M from Karnatak University Dharwad, India, an LL.B, and a B.A. His academic qualifications are further strengthened by postgraduate certifications in United Nations Studies and Criminology. Dr. Asande’s teaching, research, and supervisory expertise centers on Public International Environmental Law, eco-tourism, human rights, commercial law  and the protection of marginalized communities, with a strong comparative focus on India and Kenya. He has successfully supervised doctoral and master’s candidates and has served as an external examiner of postgraduate dissertations at Nelson Mandela University. His scholarly contributions include numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals addressing environmental sustainability, social justice, and constitutional governance. In addition to his academic scholarly , Dr. Makori has presented research papers at various national and international conferences, delivered keynote addresses at global academic forums, served as a moot court judge, and actively contributed to curriculum review and development. He has also been invited on several occasions to deliver career talks, where he speaks on opportunities within the law profession and provides mentorship to students pursuing legal studies. His professional engagement, academic leadership, and commitment to mentorship reflect a strong dedication to advancing legal education and scholarship both locally and internationally.
